Overview

Nayakanga peak is located near border of Tibet and almost 30km North from Katmandu. This peak is also popularly known as Ganja-la Chuli and falls in Langtang region. This is one of the challenging trekking peaks in Nepal and presents you wonderful view of Langtang Lirung, Gangchepo, Langsisha Ri, Yala peak, Dorche Lakpa. Langtang is a popular destination for climbing peaks and fantastic panoramic vistas of Himalayan in Nepal.

We drive for about 7-8 hours by bus to reach Dhunche from Kathmandu and then start trekking to Naya Khang Base Camp. Then we will follow the trekking path of Lang tang valley to reach Kyangjin Gompa. Leaving Kyangjin Gompa, to the west we will cross Langtang Khola. Witnessing number of small peaks which is actually the most fascinating part of this trekking peak require no previous experience of climbing and are suitable for any trekkers who love to go for peak climbing. The normal path for Nayakhang peak climbing is North-east face and North edge.

Nayakhang (5800 m) is one of the hardly ever climbed trekking peaks and does not entail technical experience. Yet, a good level of fitness will aid you in climbing the peak and also involves few steep ice slopes. We climb this peak establishing a high camp and then go after its north-west edge to the peak. And moreover, great views of Langtang Himal and Jugal reward us on the peak.

Attractions

We begin with a picturesque drive through terraced agricultural field with thatched covered distinctive villages with wonderful Himalayan sceneries including Langtang Lirung, Gangchepo, Langsisha Ri, Yala peak, Dorche Lakpa and more takes to track head Dhunche (1950 m) ascends steadily through the bamboo and rhododendron forest. Trek passes all along Tibetan and Tamang settlement with their cultural variety and way of life. Other attractions of the trek are striking monasteries, mani walls and chortens as well as arresting colorful prayer flags. The huge pastures, glaciers and unoccupied Langtang upper alpine gorge bestows meditation environment.

Why different

We will pass through yak pastures and small villages, fantastic views attract you. The campsite at the Kangja La bestows beautiful views of Naya Kanga including the views of Shishapangma, Kangchenpo (6400m), Dorje Lakpa (7000m) and Lonpo Gang (7100m).

Best season

Spring is also good choice to go for Nayakhang Peak because of warmer temperatures. Talking about summer, some trekkers prefer to go but this the season when the place will have lots of leeches.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel (1300m.)

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative at Kathmandu International airport and then you will be transferred to hotel. You can relax for the rest of the day and in the evening you can enjoy dinner with Nepali cultural dance. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath, Monkey temple, Basantapur Durbar, Patan Durbar, and Back to Hotel

Today, you will be go around different world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley; the sacred temple of Hindu, Pashupatinath; the world’s biggest Stupa, Boudhanath; Swoyambhunath Stupa which is also known as the monkey temple; and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will also visit Kumari broadly known as Living Goddess in Basantapur, Kathmandu. You will also go around Patan Durbar Square which is rich in historical art and architecture. Overnight at hotel again.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Dhunche (1970m)

Today we will drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche for around 7 to 8 hours and it is the beginning point of the trek. Overnight at Dhunche.

Day 04: Dhunche to Syabru Village (2130m)

From Dhunche, today the trail moves east downward the village’s major path. Also, we will come across the Trisuli Khola and go after the road to one of the villages of Bharkhu. Climbing abruptly from Bharkhu, the track reaches an edge where we go into the Langtang valley. To the north we can observe the snow peaks in Tibet; and to the East, we can see the top of Langtang Lirung. Moving downward, we come to the village of Syabru. Overnight at Syabru Village.

Day 05: Syabru to Lama Hotel (2748m)

The main track to Langtang moves downward along the edge via the village then move along the downhill to the Langtang Khola. We pass all along the river, trekking through vacant forest of rhododendron and oak. Passing the settlement of Chongong, we climb next to a steep trail to reach to our camp. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 06: Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3500m)

Today we will trek from Lama Hotel to reach Langtang Village (3330m.) taking around 5 hours. Walking for about 2 hours, at first we arrive at Ghora Tabela, a small village with trekker’s lodge, shops and more. Then, we pass all the way through Tamang village where we can see Tibetan- style prayer flags and prayer wheels. Also, we will see the arresting views of the Langtang range on our way. Then, you will reach at Langtang Village. Overnight at guest house.

Day 07: Langtang Village to Kyangjin (3800m)

The trail ascends steadily through yak pastures and small villages, as the gorge opens out and the views turn out to be more extensive. After going across several small rivers and moraines, the track reaches at Kyangjin settlement. Overnight at Kyangjin.

Day 08: Kyangjin Gompa Rest

We today have a rest day at Kyajin Gompa. Here we can see a small monastery and a cheese factory operated by government with the help of Swiss Association for technical aid in 1995. Overnight at Kyajin Gompa again.

Day 09: Kyangjin to Nayakanga Kharak Base

From Kyangjin, we will go across the Langtang Khola before ascending uphill to the Kangja La. Some vertical scrambling way pass through rock fields ultimately leads to a camp below the Kangja La. The campsite bestows beautiful views of Naya Kanga including the views of Shishapangma, Kangchenpo (6400m), Dorje Lakpa (7000m) and Lonpo Gang (7100m). Overnight at tented Camp in Nayakanga Kharak Base Camp.

Day 10: Climb up Naya Kanga Base Camp (5100m) Tented Camp.

Today, we climb up to Naya Kanga Base Camp and start trek up to the high camp. We will walk through the rocky trail and reach a spot where we set up our camp. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 11: Summit to Naya kanga (5844m) and return to Base camp, tented camp.

Today we will reach at the peak of the Naya kanga located at an altitude of 5844m. We return back to the base camp. We stay overnight at the tented camp. This is the most rewarding and significant day of the entire trek.

Day 12: Reserve day in case the weather is not good.

We separate a day just in case if the weather is not good so that there won’t be changes in the trekking duration. Overnight at tented camp again.

Day 13: Return Kyangjin Gompa.Overnight at lodge

After great success of reaching at the summit, we will walk back to Kyanjing. Overnight at lodge in Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 14: Trek Kyangjin Gompa to Lamahotel-Remche. Overnight at lodge

From Kyangjin, we take the path back to Lama Hotel. As we go back over our steps, we go after the Langtang Khola to reach Langtang village and arrive at Ghora Tabela. We continue trekking through the vertical descent to reach our destination for today Lama Hotel. Overnight at Lodge.

Day15: Trek Lamahotel-Remche to Sybrubensi. Overnight at lodge

From Kyangjin, we take our way back to Lama Hotel. As we make our steps back, we go after the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to reach Ghora Tabela. Overnight at lodge.

Day 16: Drive Syabrubesi to Kathmandu/7hrs. Overnight at hotel.

From Lama Hotel, we move back to Kathmandu take around 7 hours. We can stroll around the rising and falling path taking us to the village. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 17: Free day Kathmandu

We have a free day in Kathmandu today. We can go around the places included in world heritage list. Alternatively we can go around Kathmandu city for shopping or relax for whole day.  Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Final Departure

You will drive to Airport by our representative and take the flight to reach your destination from Kathmandu.

In Gosaikunda 2014 November...

We took two groups to Gosaikunda at December 2014. We sent two guides with each seven and five groups. It was very successful trip of our company as before. Every travelers of Korea and Norway became lot of happy to visit there. Again they will arrive here in same company to visit ghorepeni poonhill trek.
